GERALD FINK, Ph.D. TO JOIN GLYCOFI SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD

Lebanon, NH (February 16 , 2006) – GlycoFi announced today that Gerald Fink, Ph.D. of the Whitehead Institute and MIT has joined GlycoFi’s scientific advisory board. Dr. Fink is well known for his seminal contributions to the area of yeast biology, and has developed baker's yeast as a model for studying the fundamental biology of all organisms.
 
“We are very excited to welcome Dr Fink to GlycoFi’s scientific advisory board. As a pioneer in the area of yeast biology we look forward to Dr. Fink’s input and leadership on the board,” said Tillman Gerngross, Ph.D., GlycoFi’s chief scientific officer.

Dr. Fink is a founding member of the Whitehead Institute and American Cancer Society Professor of Genetics at MIT. He was director of the Whitehead from 1990 to 2001. Dr. Fink received his PhD degree in genetics from Yale University and served for 15 years on the faculty of Cornell University. A past president of the Genetics Society of America, he is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the Institute of Medicine.
